Setup
Walking pad with a standing desk
A walking pad with a standing desk works when three things line up: the deck is low, the cables can move, and the speed stays in a slow walk.
Height first
Raise the desk to your standing elbow height, then add the deck. If the desktop hits your forearms, lower the desk or pick a thinner under-desk treadmill. The WalkingPad A1 Pro is the sample low-deck pick.
Speed you can type at
Most people type cleanly around 1.5–2.2 mph. Faster belongs in a meeting-free block, or off the clock. A walking pad with incline makes that slow speed harder, which helps on days the flat belt feels pointless.
The rest of the room
Leave slack in the monitor cables. Put a mat down if the floor is hard and someone lives below you. Fold the walking pad up if the room has to be a living room at night. Those picks are on best walking pads and quiet walking pads.
